CaptImag - tutorial
- Installation
- CaptImag needs no installation ; under Windows Vista, run CaptImag "as an administrator"
- Download the program to your desktop or into a folder of your choice
- If you choose a folder, you should create a shortcut on your desktop
- Use
- Launch CaptImag with a double-click on its icon
- This action adds a CaptImag icon in the systray (near the clock)
- CaptImag is operational ; it can be used with a simple left click on this icon
- Left click takes a photo of your screen and opens CaptImag window
- To capture an area of the screen, click the Capture button ; select with your mouse the area you want to capture ; for that, left-click and drag the mouse from a corner of the area to the opposite one ; then, release the mouse button
- To capture the entire screen, unnecessary to display CaptImag ; display the screen to capture and press the Print Screen key (Prntscr / PrtSc / PrtScrn) on the keyboard
To include the mouse cursor in the screenshot, check the "with cursor" box before
- To capture an application's active window, unnecessary to display CaptImag ; display the active window to capture and press the Alt + Print Screen key

- The capture is automaticaly saved in the clipboard ; then, it can be pasted into any other software, : use the Paste edit function in the destination software
- If required, you can invert the colors of the capture with the Invert button ; this function allows changing a light text on a dark background into a dark text on a light backgound, which can be more legible when printed (+ saves ink...)
- CaptImag allows you to print the captured area
- The Settings button
allows you to select the printer and access its properties (for example, for choosing the print format : portrait or landscape), adjust the print margins (left and top), change the print size
- The Print bouton launches printing
- The Save button
allows you to save screen capture as a jpg (quality 100% or 75%), bmp, gif or png format file
- The Minimize button closes the CaptImag window but its icon remains in the systray, waiting for a new need
